3D Printer

UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle

The UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle comes with an integrated material storage unit, directly under the 3D printer. However, this unit doesn’t just store the material, it stores up to 6 full rolls of filament in a humidity-controlled environment and automatically prints using the right option.

You can pick from any of the 6 loaded spools to be used during your print, and the UltiMaker S7 will use the correct spool. So, you can load it with 6 of the exact same filaments, 6 different materials, 6 different colors, or any combination of materials. From there, your S7 will know which spool to use at the exact time that it’s needed.

If you imagine loading 6 of the same material into your printer, you will unlock true 24/7 printing from the UltiMaker S7. Once one roll is out of filament, the printer knows to automatically index and start using the next spool. This process will continue until there is no filament left in the material chamber.

This level of automation can change your workflow completely. For starters, you can make 6 parts at the same time using completely different materials, and have a selection of parts when you check your printer the following day. In addition, it takes the guesswork out of managing and storing your filament.

This addition to the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle can bring your plastics manufacturing in-house, save you time, give you more control over your final product, and save you a lot of money in the long run.

Features and Benefits

Accuracy, Versatility, and Reliability Like No Other

While the accuracy and reliability of the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle are no different than the S7 itself, the added versatility brings this machine to the next level. Since the machine can automatically select, use, and index material within the integrated storage chamber, you can take all of the human error out of your 3D printing operation. At the same time, you can add a new level of automation that makes your printer even more usable.

Total Automation

Introducing the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle into your existing production workflow is a great way to automate a lot of steps. Other 3D printers require a lot of manpower through starting the prints, checking on them, and setting up the next operation. The UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle doesn’t.

  • Ability for 24/7 printing. With the added 6 spools within the material chamber, you can use this printer around the clock with no downtime between parts.
  • Automatic calibration and setup. The setup and calibration before each new printing operation is done automatically by the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle, saving you even more time.
  • Runs with little supervision. You can run the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle around the clock with very little human supervision. This frees up your engineers to work on other projects.

On-the-Go Printing

Another great feature of the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle is that you can initiate, manage, and check on prints from anywhere. Other 3D printers require you to manually check the printer multiple times throughout the printing process.

  • Remotely start any print. Since the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle is connected via IoT, you can remotely start a new print from your desk or anywhere else.
  • Camera system to watch. The built-in camera system gives you a live feed of what your printer is doing and the progress of your parts. If you spot something on the camera, you can remotely stop the print as well.
  • Sensors to keep each print stable. With built-in detection sensors, the printer will stop if it notices a defect or issue with your part. It will send a notification to your computer or phone, prompting you to check on the print.

Fast and Easy Way to Fabricate

The UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle makes the full fabrication process so much easier. If you need low-volume production runs of plastic parts, it’s hard to find a better option than the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle. This all-in-one FDM 3D printer will save you time during each part.

  • Faster than traditional manufacturing. Making a plastic part in a machine shop takes a lot of expertise and it comes with tons of limitations that the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle doesn’t have.
  • Intuitive process. The full process can be done by a complete rookie with no previous 3D printing experience.
  • Save time on each part. Something that might take a machine shop a few days to make and deliver to you can be done in hours with the UltiMaker S7 Pro Bundle.

More About This Technology

Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is one of the most common forms of 3D printing, and it’s largely used by hobbyists and DIYers. It has a special place in industrial settings as a low-cost way to make presentable 3D parts. You might use an FDM printer to create a scaled model home, an aesthetic representation of the final part, or a non-load-bearing component.

FDM works through an extruder on an XYZ (3-axis) gantry. Solid plastic is pushed against a hot nozzle which turns the plastic molten. The molten plastic is then carefully applied to the bed of your 3D printer. The 3-axis gantry will move around in X and Y, drawing a single layer of your 3D model. When it’s done, the nozzle will move up in the Z direction and create a new layer directly on top of the previously-extruded layer. This process continues until your full 3D-printed part is completed.

FDM printers are not used for load-bearing applications due to the weakness of the plastic material, and the weak points between each layer of the print. Even a small cyclic load can easily cause failure between layers.

You might find FDM-printed parts in the aerospace, medical, and consumer goods industries.
