Raster Edit Within
CAD
Software has improved greatly over the last several years
with regards to raster editing. We can now treat a raster
engineering image, just as an engineering CAD document.
We can now manipulate the image by resizing, moving, and
by using most ‘normal’ AutoCAD edit methods (like gMove
or gErase). We can also deskew and despeckling of an image.
For an example true raster editing, we can take a raster
circle (10,000 little dots) and edit out/delete just the
circle - without changing any line work touching or going
into that circle.
The three leaders in this field are WiseImage
6.0, GTX RasterCAD, and AutoDesk's
new Raster Design (formally Cad Overlay). We use WiseImage 6.0, GTX
RasterCAD and the new Raster Design products. These
products have matured well over the years. You can expect
to spend between $495 to $3,240 depending upon your requirements.
WiseImage
6.0 can be found here.
GTX can be found here.
The main products to consider from GTX include RasterTools, RasterCAD, and RasterCAD
Plus.
Autodesk Raster Design can be found at:
