information links to the requirement of a properly maintained
digital database. But then, switching from the ongoing world of
paper media to a medium which stores data digitally, an interface
has to be provided so that quick and easy mode of change to a
more efficient and easy to use data form comes in hand.

Dual
Entry Interface provides the capability of creating two
user interfaces by use of which a user can efficiently check
data that have been entered using the 'First entry' type. The
'Second Entry' type thus ensures the user to correctly enter
data and decrease the error level for the transition.
Dynamic
Input/Output Folder Creation The user can create, Specify
a personalized output folder, folder where the database will
be created and the data will be stored and can also
create or specify an input folder from where the scanned
images will be loaded. All of these can be done while using
EDMS
hence providing the capability of Dynamically creating
folders without moving out to the Windows desktop environment.
Dynamic
Database CreationCustomized Database creation
support is provided in the package. The database is created
automatically without explicitly using any DBMS Package. The
Software has database support for Microsoft-Access, Microsoft
-Excel and delimited ASCII files with compatibility and conversion
linearity between each of them.
It creates a default Microsoft-Access database for which it
requires no prior installation of Microsoft-Access to be there
in the system.
Data
Type Validation As with any other conventional database
present in the market, EDMS has taken care of validating data
to be entered by the user. This ensures user familiar
with any other database environment or even with no prior knowledge
to easily handle and correctly enter data into EDMS without
having the feel or difficulty of working in a totally user familiar
different environment.
Multiple
Image Area Specification Area Specific record creation
utility has been provided to the package. By this feature the
operator can select the specific portion(s) of the scanned images
for a particular record. This enhances automatic zooming into
the area specified when the record to be entered is selected
for entry. The user will be specifying the areas on the image
for once and that will be implemented for the next image(s).
If the following images are of different size withthe information format of the images beingsame, intelligence of the software zooms to the same
area for entry . Fordifferent
image information formats under the same project, facility of
multiple configuration for specified area zooming is also provided.
Different
image handling options are provided as present in the imaging
software’s (Pan, Zoom, Rotate, Print, Copy, Flip etc).
Advantages
of using images of the formats such as Jpeg, Gif, Tiff, Bmp
and many more.
One
project can handle more than one type of image format.
Cross
checking of the data that has been entered Facility of
checking has been provided with the utility of cross-check.
This process enables to check recordswhen data is entered for the second time using ‘Second
Entry’ option. This process ensures the correct entry into the
database prior to delivery in an efficient manner.
Customized
use of Macros Shortcut
keys provide the facility to enter long and/or repetitive sentences/words
with a single key strokes. This enables the user to quickly
enter the records as per standards without mistakes and consumingtimefor
long or repetitive entries.
Dynamic
Editing All entries madeare dynamically displayed in a Table structure as defined
in the Bottom of the window. This facilitatesthe user with the capability of selecting any previously
entered record for editing or any other intention, which in
turn intelligently opens the related image from which the entry
has been done and as well as zooms to the specific region of

Entry
Timers The software displays the elapsed time and as
well as the number of entries made in that time so that the
user using the software can judge and increase his/her efficiency
in utilizing the software.
Data
Export Formats The data entered is usually kept in an
Access databasewhich
can be exportedin
Text / Excel Format. The Text file created can have any delimiter
character as specified by the operator at the time of export.
Thus the exported data can be imported in any of the databases
available in the market providing cross platform independence.
